Aspirations
If nothing stood in your way, what would you create? And why?
Sometimes in art (and life) we are settling for what is convenient, or what we think is "good for us" at the moment. While each day, we shove our dreams in the corner thinking yes, I see you, but not right now.
This happens because usually Big Dreams require big moves, hard work, bravery, and feeling uncomfortable while we take the long road to the results we desire.
My dream at the moment is to paint the feeling of my rural upbringing through a magical and classical lens. To paint narrative scenes from this region borrowing gestures from classical figure painting and cranked up color that carries the feeling of the season. I'm stoked about the thought of it! Light crawling across a big front porch, natural reading nooks, summer wind. Maybe it's about containing my simple childhood with what I find most beautiful in art. Get ready mom - I'll be setting up shop at your house for the foreseeable future.
What are you itching to create?
What can you do today that will bring you closer to that dream?
