I just have to share this place with you!
It's one of those rare finds that truly speaks to your soul!

In fact, I was so fascinated with this location, that I drug my studio supplies down a steep rocky terrain just to work in this little honey hole for a day. A slice of muddy Mississippi heaven.

Prior to beginning a painting, I need a point of departure, a reference that ignites that childlike wonder and imaginative spark. And these are the elements that did the trick...

1. This place looks like a fairytale forest, and I can envision countless stories that take place in these woods.
2. The stark tree shadows reaching out across the smooth dirt forest floor
3. The muddy water making baby waves into the treeline.
4. The gnarly twisting contours of tree branches.

There are also birds chirping, leaves crackling, and boats speeding by...

As an artist, it's my goal to funnel this experience through my artwork so you can enjoy it too!

I can't wait to share the creations born from this beautiful place.
