Spring Art Challenge - a review of the first week.
Cheers to one week of cultivating new ideas!
With these pieces, I was trying to weave my immediate experiences and surroundings with that elusive magical universe inside my head. Using past works as starting off points, imagining what those pieces would look like if I shifted the viewpoint slightly over, down or zooming in and out.
The hardest part thus far is keeping my thinking brain in the background while I let instinct and excitement lead the way when it comes to composing scenes and choosing subjects.
There is a sense of freedom that comes with working small and fast. Any idea has the potential to be great, and it’s alright if most of the trails lead nowhere because tomorrow, I get to start all over again.
By working out this muscle every day, I find myself getting stuck less, not dwelling over what to do next, and developing a ritual around my creative practice.
